PHANTOM OF OPERA

The Phantom of the Opera (known in Universal Monsters lore as Erik or Erique Claudin) is a pillar of the Universal Classic Monsters franchise. Originating from Gaston Leroux's 1910 novel and portrayed on screen by Lon Chaney in 1925 and Claude Rains in 1943, he is a tragic, disfigured musical genius who haunts the catacombs beneath the Paris Opera House.
